Goulds Green Riding School is proud to announce the occasion of it’s 50th anniversary. Although running in a small way a few years earlier we generally consider 1959 to be the year it became firmly established and the year of our first show. Now being run by the third generation of the Jupp family we still try to maintain a friendly atmosphere, as although health and safety issues are important we consider learning to ride should be an enjoyable and fun experience.

There have been many changes over the years, the surrounding roads are busier and much of the open land we used to ride on has been developed, however we are fortunate to have had Stockley Country Park developed adjacent to our stables which offers several miles of prepared bridle paths and two huge ménages where both complete beginners and more advanced riders can ride in safety. One unfortunate change however is that over the years there has been a slight increase in charges, in 1959 a ½ hour ride cost 2 shillings & 6 pence (12 ½ p) and 5 shillings (25p) per hour.

We will be holding a number of events to mark our 5oth anniversary including a show, open day, pony club event, re-union party and would like to make contact with any former clients, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank all clients both past and present for their support over the years and hope we have been successful in making your horse riding a pleasant experience.
